This plaster head is the work of the Galleria Romanelli in Florence. It represents Apollo, the timeless god of the sun, and is made to look like a piece found during the 2nd century A.D-called the Belvedere Apollo which is kept at Vatican Museums, Rome. During Renaissance artists considered it a model of perfect beauty which they captured in their works like this one.
