Meticulously crafted by Toyo Ito as part of the Ripples Collection, this nightstand showcases a shelf crafted from five distinct types of wood: walnut, cherry, mahogany, ash, and oak. Encased within an extra-clear tempered glass frame, it creates a captivating "trompe l’oeil" effect of suspension in mid-air. At the bottom, a spacious drawer made of MDF features a white lacquered finish on the sides, with walnut fronts and backs, and is equipped with wheels for added mobility.
