Forty years after the original Max sofa's debut, Antonio Citterio revisits this iconic Flexform design with a fresh, contemporary perspective, enhancing its versatility. The new model, Supermax, offers more generous proportions compared to the 1983 version. The sleek, Rationalist-inspired tubular metal structure has been slightly lowered to promote a more relaxed posture. The characteristic kidney-bean-shaped seat cushion has been completely redesigned, now featuring additional padding for improved comfort. The unmistakable cylindrical backrest is even more striking with the option of two-tone upholstery. While the Max sofa was ideal for waiting rooms, executive offices, and lounges, the Supermax, with its deep, low seat, is designed to serve a more central, multifunctional role in both residential and hospitality living rooms.
