DESCRIPTION
The attractive vase was designed by Aldo Londi in 1953 and crafted from white clay.It has a vibrant turquoise finish.Like a water container that was destined for overuse, one end of the vessel is contracted and appears slightly bunched while at its rear more spacious half--the other end we might almost think of as entropic abundance--either bulges out or projects upward. Toward the mouth, its form grows less convoluted and then opens into a beautiful arc.The vase is round, with a small mouth at the top.Parallel carvings cover the body of the vase, from the bottom all the way to a smooth central strip, creating visually intriguing contrasts in texture.
