DESCRIPTION
The Murano Glass Jade Variopinto Trio of Vases by Stories of Italy in collaboration with Alberto and Francesco Meda, exemplifies the fusion of artistic heritage and sustainable innovation. Originating in 2010, the project began when Borek Šípek invited renowned designers Andrea Branzi, Ron Arad, Oscar Tusquets, Nanda Vigo, and Alberto Meda to create unique blown glass pieces in his Bohemian glass factory. Alberto Meda’s design, part of a collection showcased at Spazio Krizia in Milan in April 2011 and later auctioned in New York had been dormant for years. Reviving this legacy Francesco Meda, Alberto’s son, reimagined the piece with Stories of Italy, a Milan-based studio specializing in Murano glass. Using recycled and waste glass, they preserved the original forms while presenting them with a fresh contemporary aesthetic aligned with sustainability. Crafted with just four hands, this collection reinterprets timeless design through an eco-conscious lens.
